2nd ECO-SOS Workshop on Economics and Sustainability, 1 October 2021
The Research Centre on Economics and Sustainability (ECO-SOS) is a research centre created in 2010 as CREIP (Research Centre in Industrial and Public Economics), that recently moved to sustainability issues, in line with research interests of its members. Specifically, ECO-SOS studies the connection between sustainability and the following areas of interest: environmental and climate economics, health economics, regional and urban economics, education and labor market business and innovation, energy and natural resources, industrial organization, economic policy, game theory and environmental conflicts, and transport and tourism.

"Environmental Policies in International Markets" by Françeska Tomori
on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10 am will take place the defense of the thesis of our doctoral student Françeska Tomori under the title "Environmental Policies in International Markets" and which has been led by our colleagues Bernd Theilen and José-Manuel Giménez-Gómez ( Department of Economics, URV).
The defense will take place in the Sala de graus of the Faculty of Economics and Business.

ECO-SOS Converses, with Lourdes Beneria
The 1st edition of the ECO-SOS Conversations with Lourdes Beneria (Cornell University), entitled "La història de les cures i l’economia post-pandèmica", will take place on Wednesday 16 June at 12 noon. The event will be in the Sala de Graus, although due to COVID measures the capacity will be very limited (prior registration is required at eco-sos@urv.cat). Since this is a well-known speaker and we hope that the demand is important we have planned a streaming broadcast via MS Teams and Instagram Live. In addition, we will record the event and upload it to our YouTube channel so that everyone can access it. The event will be supported by the URV's Gender Equality Observatory.
Lourdes Beneria is Professor Emeritus at Cornell University (New York) and one of the world's leading specialists in economics and gender. Other awards include the Alice Cook Award (Cornell University, 2000), the Narcís Monturiol Medal (2002, Generalitat de Catalunya), the President Macià Work Medal (2016, Generalitat de Catalunya) and the Creu de Sant Jordi (2018, Generalitat de Catalunya).

2nd ECO-SOS Doctorials, 3 June 2021
ECO-SOS Doctorials is a workshop designed to improve the training of doctoral students and disseminate their research activities. Specifically, they can present standard papers (20-minute presentation) and research ideas (5-minute presentation). In addition, there is also a presentation by a senior ECO-SOS researcher with the aim of explaining his / her research. This event takes place twice a year: before the PhD Workshop on Industrial and Public Economics (WIPE), in December, to serve as training for participating students, and before the summer, also as a training before the period in which most conferences and workshops are scheduled. The 2nd ECO-SOS Doctorals will be held on June 3 at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, in Reus. In this edition we will have 7 doctoral students who will present their research and we will have a final presentation “Congestion in roads and airports: Diagnosis and policy mesaures” by Ricardo Flores-Fillol, senior member of ECO-SOS.
