8th PhD-Student Workshop on Industrial and Public Economics (WIPE), 6-7 February 2020
CREIP will host the 8th PhD Workshop on Industrial and Public Economics (WIPE) in Reus (Tarragona, Spain) on 6-7 February 2020. WIPE aims to be an academic meeting where PhD students to interact with other young scholars, postdoc, and senior researchers to exchange experiences, research ideas, ongoing projects and future research activities in the fields of Industrial Organization and Public Economics.
WIPE will include about 18-20 presentations, each of them being discussed by a member of CREIP.
It will also host a keynote lecture by Kai Konrad (Max Planck Institute). Former keynote speakers at WIPE have been: Mark Armstrong (University of Oxford)Alessandro Gavazza (LSE), Luis Cabral (NYU), Jose Luis Moraga-Gonzalez (VU Amsterdam), Tommaso Valletti (Imperial College London), Xavier Vives (IESE), and Massimo Filippini (EHT Zürich).
All presenters must be PhD students. Papers must widely fit into in the fields of Industrial Organization and Public Economics. There is non-refundable fee of EUR 30 and attendants should cover their own travel expenses.

Paper Submission Procedure
Full Papers should be submitted electronically in PDF format to creip(ELIMINAR)@urv.cat by 9 December 2019, along with the name, affiliation and contact details of the author(s). The front page of the document should include the title, authors, affiliations, contact details and short abstract.
WIPE Awards: During the 8th WIPE three papers will be awardered with a prize of 600 euros each one of them. Specifically,
- The Department of Economics will award to the young researcher presenting the best paper.
- The Chair for the Promotion of Firm Innovation will award the prize "PREMI-INNOVA" to the young researcher presenting the best paper on R&D and innovation.
- The Chair of local and Regional Economy will award the prize "PREMI-REGIONAL" to the young researcher presenting the best paper on regional and sustainability studies.
The decision will be taken by a jury composed by members designed by each Chair, the Department of Economics and the Organizing Committee of the WIPE, and the veredict will be announced during the closure of the workshop. Note that in exceptional and duly justified cases, the jury may award two papers, and the prize will be divided equally.
The deadline for notification of acceptance of full papers is 20 December 2019.
