Eric Barberà Mas successfully defended his PhD in Economics at Universitat Rovira i Virgili on October 21, 2024. His dissertation, “Towards a Comprehensive Understanding of Well-being: Conceptualization, Measurement, and Main Economic and Institutional Drivers”, addresses key challenges in well-being research. His research focuses on clarifying definitions, enhancing the alignment of multidimensional well-being indicators with theoretical standards, and identifying key economic and institutional determinants of well-being to inform policy.
He is particularly interested in economics of well-being; public policy, the role of institutions and democracy; ecological economics and sustainability; and inequality and poverty. Eric is a member of the International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies (ISQOLS) and the Research Center on Economics and Sustainability (ECO-SOS).
